Locations
Each location represents a city weather file. Standard location files included with the program are unable to be modified. You can create a copy of the standard location files and make adjustments as necessary. Each location displays information in three different tabs: Location, Advanced Options and Emission Factors.
In map mode, each location is represented as a pin with the following code:

Location
The Location tab contains the following design information about the location:
Name
The Name is the description of the library member and will be displayed in the appropriate drop-down list or on the weather map.
Library
The Library field defines if the location is a standard library or a custom library.
Source
The file source corresponds to the file type or format. Standard locations are epw files, but the software can support different weather formats to be imported. See the Import section for more detail.
Design Weather Source
You must select the source for the design conditions. It could be ASHRAE Climatic Data or Design Weather based on the custom file.
ASHRAE Climatic Data
Design weather is generated from the Weather station selected from tables of ASHRAE Handbook of Fundamentals 2013.
Design Weather based on custom weather file
Design weather is generated from the copied or imported weather file.
Summer Design Cooling
Summer Design Cooling defaults to 1% for Dry bulb, Wet bulb and Wind Speed. Other options are 0.04%, 2%, and User Override, which is only available for custom locations. This percentage means that the cooling values may be exceeded only 1% of the time during the year. Values within each percentage can’t be modified, only the User Override option allows you to enter values in custom locations.
Dry Bulb
This field refers to the maximum dry-bulb temperature.

Wet Bulb
This field refers to the mean coincident dew point temperature at maximum dry-bulb.

Wind Speed
Wind speed is used to normalize the infiltration airflow during the non-design summer and winter months. It is a constant value through the day and typical values are 7.5 mph for summer and 15 mph for winter.

Winter Design Heating
Winter Design Heating defaults to 99% for Dry Bulb, Humidification Dew Point, and Wind Speed. Other options are 99.6% and User Override, which is only available for custom locations. The percentage means that the heating values may be lower than the displayed design only 1% of the time during the year.
Values within each percentage can’t be modified, only the User Override option allows you to enter values in custom locations.

The elevation is the weather location’s height relative to sea level. Locations below sea level are shown as negative values.

Latitude
This field represents the latitude (in degrees) of the facility. By convention, North Latitude is represented as positive; South Latitude as negative. Minutes are represented in decimal fractions of 60. (15’ is 15/60 or .25)

In the Northern hemisphere, the latitude ranges from 0 to 90 degrees.

Station Name and Number
Station name displays the name of the weather location's station. The station is the observation site from which the meteorological data is collected. Station number displays the identifying index number for the weather location station, as assigned by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). When the station name is changed, the station number changes automatically
Optional Direct Dehumidification
Optional Direct Dehumidification allows you to design based on dew point at extreme humidity ratio conditions. These values are useful for humidity control applications.
