Templates Library
Templates contain information which can be applied to any project. Selecting a template pre-fills data for the following worksheets:
Airflows
Airflows library members are created to define the Cooling and Heating Flow Rates, Ventilation, Infiltration and Room Exhaust to be applied to the space. Standard library members cannot be edited.
The airflows library member details screen displays the fields that must be defined when creating custom library members and are pre-determined for standard library members:
● Name: Name of the airflows template for the library member
● Source: Where the library member came from (ex. Trane)
● Description: Brief description of the library member (ex. Standard library by Trane)
The following fields must be completed to complete the creation of a new airflows library member:
General
Cooling and Heating Flow Rates

Default: Auto Sized, the option to manually enter a flow rate can be performed by clicking the checkbox to the left of the Auto Size option

Ventilation
Standard
Select the appropriate ventilation Standard from the drop down menu.
Type
Per the standard selected above, select the appropriate ventilation Type from the drop down menu.
Schedule
Select the appropriate schedule from the drop down menu.
People Based Rate/Air Flow Rate
Value and units auto-populate per the ventilation Type selected above.
● People Based Rate option appears when an ASHRAE 62.1 or Title 24 standard is selected
● Air Flow Rate option appears when a general standard is selected
Infiltration
Type
Select the appropriate infiltration Type from the drop down menu.
Flow Rate
Value and units auto-populate per the infiltration Type selected.
Schedule
Select the appropriate schedule from the drop down menu.
Room Exhaust
Type
Select the appropriate room exhaust Type from the drop down menu.
Flow Rate
Value and units auto-populate per the room exhaust Type selected.
Schedule
Select the appropriate schedule from the drop down menu.
Internal Loads
Loads library members are created to define People, Light and Misc. Equipment loads to be applied to the space. Standard library members cannot be edited.
The loads library member details screen displays the fields that must be defined when creating custom library members, and are pre-determined for standard library members:
● Name: Name of the loads template for the library member
● Source: Where the library member came from (ex. Trane)
● Description: Brief description of the library member (ex. Standard library by Trane)
Loads library member templates can contain the following three loads:
People
Name
Enter the Name to define the people load
Percent Floor Area
Enter the Percent Floor Area
● Typical value: 100%
● Range: 0-100%
Type
Enter the appropriate Type from the drop down menu
● This will auto-populate Density, Activity, Sensible Load, Latent Load and the Sensible Radiant percentage per the pre-defined library member
Schedule
Select the appropriate Schedule from the drop down menu
Light
Name
Enter the Name to define the light load
Percent Floor Area
Enter the Percent Floor Area
● Typical value: 100%
● Range: 0-100%
Type
Enter the appropriate Type from the drop down menu
● This will auto-populate Density, Lighting Configuration, Heat into Return Air, Thermal Radiation and Visible Radiation percentage per the pre-defined library member.
Schedule
Select the appropriate Schedule from the drop down menu
Misc. Equipment
Name
Enter the Name to define the Misc. Equipment.
Percent Floor Area
Enter the Percent Floor Area
● Typical value: 100%
● Range: 0-100%
Type
Enter the appropriate Type from the drop down menu
● This will auto-populate Density, Utility Only, Fuel Type, Latent, Radiant and Lost Heat percentage per the pre-defined library member.
Schedule
Select the appropriate Schedule from the drop down menu.
Building Constructions
Building construction library members are created to define the building construction and zone to be applied to the whole building. Standard library members cannot be edited.
The building construction library member details screen displays the fields that must be defined when creating custom library members, and are pre-determined for standard library members:
● Name: Name of the building construction template for the library member
● Source: Where the library member came from (ex. Trane)
● Description: Brief description of the library member (ex. Standard library by Trane)
The following construction type names must have a library member selected from the drop down menu to the right of the name:
● Exterior Walls, Ground Contact Walls, Interior Walls, Roofs, Ground Contact Roofs, Ceilings, Exterior Doors, Interior Doors, Raised Floors, Exposed Slabs, Ground Contact Slabs, Interzone Slab, Exterior Windows, Skylights, Interior Windows.
Room Types
Room types library members are created to define room loads based on construction, load and airflow library members to be applied to the space. Standard library members cannot be edited.
The room types library member details screen displays the fields that must be defined when creating custom library members, and are pre-determined for standard library members:
● Name: Name of the room type template for the library member
● Source: Where the library member came from (ex. Trane)
● Description: Brief description of the library member (ex. Standard library by Trane)
● Construction: Select the appropriate room construction type library member from the drop down menu
● Load: Select the appropriate load type library member from the drop down menu
● Airflow: Select the appropriate airflow type library member from the drop down menu
Note: You can click on the gray box to the left of the Construction, Load or Airflow name to view details of the selected library member.

Construction library members are created to define room loads based on construction, load and airflow library members to be applied to the space. Standard library members cannot be edited.
The construction library member details screen displays the fields that must be defined when creating custom library members, and are pre-determined for standard library members:
● Name: Name of the construction template for the library member
● Source: Where the library member came from (ex. Trane)
● Description: Brief description of the library member (ex. Standard library by Trane)
The following construction type names must have a library member selected from the drop down menu to the right of the name:
● Exterior Wall, Ground Contact Walls, Roofs, Ground Contact Roofs, Ceilings, Exterior Doors, Raised Floors, Exposed Slabs, Ground Contact Slabs, Exterior Windows, Skylights
Zone Types
Zone types library members are created to define zone loads based on zone control inputs to be applied to the space. Standard library members cannot be edited.
The zone types library member details screen displays the fields that must be defined when creating custom library members, and are pre-determined for standard library members:
● Name: Name of the zone type template for the library member
● Source: Where the library member came from (ex. Trane)
● Description: Brief description of the library member (ex. Standard library by Trane)
For zone control, click the gray box to view and enter the following library members and set points:
● Supply Path: Select the appropriate Supply Path library member from the drop down menu
● Return Path: Select the appropriate Return Path library member from the drop down menu
● Cstat Schedule: Select the appropriate Cstat Schedule library member from the drop down menu
● Cooling Dry Bulb: Enter the appropriate Cooling Dry Bulb temperature
● Cooling Drift Point: Enter the appropriate Cooling Drift Point temperature
● Hstat Schedule: Select the appropriate Hstat Schedule library member from the drop down menu
● Heating Dry Bulb: Enter the appropriate Heating Dry Bulb temperature
● Heating Drift Point: Enter the appropriate Heating Drift Point temperature
● Cooling Ez: Select the appropriate Cooling Ez library member from the drop down menu
● Heating Ez: Select the appropriate Heating Ez library member from the drop down menu
● Er: Select the appropriate Er (Energy Recovery) library member from the drop down menu
